Event Details

Virginia Woolf, 1927

On a June day in 1923, Mrs Dalloway decided to ‘buy the flowers herself’. Over one hundred years later, we have the opportunity to walk in Clarissa’s footsteps as she prepares for her party. This tour will be approximately three hours long with breaks, and extend from Westminster, through Bond Street, and up to Oxford Circus. Along the way, we’ll pause to read extracts from the novel and see London through Clarissa’s eyes. We will end in a pub for our very own ‘party’ as guests are invited to stay for a drink and discuss the novel amongst themselves.

The tour is appropriate for those who are new to the text as well as those who are highly familiar with it. It is recommended that participants read at least the opening section of the novel.
